Shanika Torres, MA, M.Ed is a Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Del Torres Behavioral Health and Wellness. She believes that humor is an essential part of life and uses this to effectively help her clients ease into the therapeutic process, which is particularly helpful for many first-time counseling attendees. Through solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), an evidenced-based therapeutic modality, Shanika has been able to help many clients see improvement in a relatively short period of time. 

She works with youth and adults and accepts the following insurance:

Fun Facts About Shanika

  1. She has 4 children ( crazy right?!)
  2. She can't swim (sorry never learned)
  3. She worked as a juvenile detention officer before becoming a counselor (she was too nice so it didn't work out).
  4. She is the middle child of 7 children (but arguably the most mature).
  5. She was was Junior and Senior Class President in high school ( I mean not to brag or anything).
  6. She is an Aquarian (for those that REALLY want to make sure she's a compatible counselor for you).
  7. She's really funny (or so she's been told by her kids...and they would never lie to her...or would they?)
